Power Scholars Academy is still accepting applications for summer 2020. Power Scholars Academy will operate with attention to Covid-19 guidelines for child care facility operation provided by the Pennsylvania Department of Health and the CDC. Please download and fill out the application- the form is fillable on a computer– then save it and email it to Jennifer Brennan, Director of Child Care, at jennifer.brennan@wbymca.org.

The Wilkes-Barre Family YMCA, BellXcel and the Bear Creek Community Charter School would like to invite your student to participate in the YMCA POWER SCHOLARS ACADEMY™, (PSA) this summer. Power Scholars is a 6 week, summer learning program designed to help advance students’ academic achievement through a full-day of challenging math and reading instruction; fun arts, science, technology, and engineering enrichment activities; community and career exploration; field trips; and a healthy breakfast, snack and lunch.

What Grades:
Current PreK  Kindergarten Fall 2020), K, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th graders.

Dates:
June 29th to August 7th
Hours:
8:30 am to 3:00 pm
Regular attendance throughout the program is expected and required.

Cost: FREE! The cost of $1,200 for each student is being funded entirely by grants and contributions from your local community.

Bear Creek Community Charter School

Buses will leave from central locations in Wilkes-Barre & Hanover Twp.

Staff: Trained certified teachers and professionals will be teaching the program with a 2:24 staff to scholar ratio for all program activities.
