Take Back 2020: December is the new January
We want to reset 2020. We want to take it back. Join us and let’s end this year the way we want to start 2021. Let’s get our entire community moving.
CHALLENGE INFO
- Open to all members and non-members in our community for free
- 3 weeks of challenges to complete
- Participants can schedule a free segmented body composition analysis
- Participants can earn up to 10 entries into a prize raffle of 10 drawings
- 10 MYZONE® MZ-3 Physical Activity Belts valued at $150 each will be drawn from the raffle on Monday, January 4, 2021 LIVE on Facebook
- Participants can download a free activity tracker to help them stay focused
- Non-member participants will have the $100 Join Fee waived if the choose to join the Y any time during the challenge OR during the month of January 2021.
CHALLENGES
December 13 to 19 – MEDALIST WEEK
Get moving 5 times for at least 20 minutes in 7 days from Sunday, 12/13 through Saturday 12/19 and your name will be featured on the Wilkes-Barre Family YMCA MEDALIST WALL and you’ll receive 1 entry into the prize raffle.
December 20 to 26 – CHALLENGE WEEK
Get moving 5 times for at least 30 minutes in 7 days from Sunday, 12/20 through Saturday 12/26 and your name will be featured on the Wilkes-Barre Family YMCA CHALLENGER WALL and you’ll get 1 entry into the prize raffle.
*MEMBER ONLY BONUS: Attend our 60 minute Christmas Eve Sleigh Ride and slay those cookies w/ Elena at 7:30am (virtually) and get an extra entry into the raffle.
*Don’t have access to a spin bike? Follow along virtually on a treadmill, elliptical, rower, etc. or create your own exercises to the intensity of the class!
December 27 to January 3 – CHAMPION WEEK
Get moving 4 times for at least 45 minutes in 7 days from Sunday, 12/27 through Saturday 1/2 and your name will be featured on the Wilkes-Barre Family YMCA CHAMPION WALL and you’ll get 1 entry into the prize raffle.
*MEMBER ONLY BONUS: Attend our 60 minute New Year’s Eve Rockin’ Ride and rock into the New Year w/ Elena at 7:30am (virtually) and get an extra entry into the raffle.
*Don’t have access to a spin bike? Follow along virtually on a treadmill, elliptical, rower, etc. or create your own exercises to the intensity of the class!
HALL OF FAME
Complete all 3 weeks and the cycling bonuses and you’ll get into the HALL OF FAME!

At the ends of each week email info@wbymca.org and let us know you completed the challenge!
Please include:
- Your first & last name
- A picture of your fitness tracker or a list of the activities you performed
- Any additional pictures you would allow us to share on social media or other publications to congratulate and encourage you
- Any additional words of encouragement you would like us to share on your behalf

What is Myzone?
Body Composition Analysis
Participants are required to schedule their Segmented Body Composition Analysis for distance, safety and cleaning protocols. To schedule, please call 570-970-5034 M-F between 8am – 2pm once the Y reopens.
Ideas on how to get moving
- Get outside: rake leaves, shovel show, pick up litter
- YMCA Members can attend our online Zoom classes
- YMCA Members can attend our in person classes at the Y
- YMCA Members can use Wellness Center or Cardio Center any time
- Non-members can use Wellness Center or Cardio Fridays 4-8pm & Sundays 8am – 12pm starting Sunday 12/13 – Saturday 1/3
- Walk, jog or run inside or outside on your own or with a friend
- Engage in active play with your kids or grandkids
- Walk your dog
- Get up and dance
- Lift weights or perform bodyweight exercises
